Eva Miranda, destacada matemàtica catalana i catedràtica a la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, ha estat inclosa a la iniciativa #científicasCASIO coincidint amb el Dia Internacional de la Dona Matemàtica. Aquest projecte de la Divisió Educativa de CASIO celebra i promou les contribucions de les dones en ciència, tecnologia, enginyeria, arts i matemàtiques, inspirant a nenes i joves a explorar aquestes disciplines.
La matemàtica catalana Eva Miranda, catedràtica de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya i investigadora adscrita al CRM, ha estat seleccionada per formar part de la iniciativa #científicasCASIO, coincidint amb el Dia Internacional de la Dona Matemàtica. Aquest projecte, impulsat per la Divisió Educativa de CASIO, té com a objectiu celebrar i difondre les contribucions de les dones en el camp de la ciència, tecnologia, enginyeria, arts i matemàtiques (STEAM).
Eva Miranda ha estat reconeguda juntament amb les matemàtiques Griselda Pascual, Maria Bras-Amorós i Pilar Bayer. Miranda treballa en el camp de la geometria simplèctica,
un vessant de la geometria que explica fenòmens de la física com les trajectòries de les partícules o els moviments dels planetes.
La iniciativa #científicasCASIO busca no només reconèixer aquestes contribucions, sinó també inspirar a futures generacions, especialment a nenes i joves, a considerar carreres en àrees STEAM. Les figures de científiques destacades com Miranda són il·lustrades en les cobertes de les calculadores distribuïdes als estudiants, combinant així l’art i la ciència d’una manera educativa i motivadora.
A més de la seva inclusió en #científicasCASIO, Miranda ha rebut nombrosos premis i reconeixements al llarg de la seva carrera, inclosos el premi ICREA, el Premi François Deruyts de l’Acadèmia Real de Bèlgica, i la Càtedra d’Excel·lència de la Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de París.
