The Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques and the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica are honored to announce a talk by Professor Endre Szemerédi.
The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters has awarded the Abel Prize 2012 to Endre Szemerédi, from the Institute of Mathematics Alfréd Rény (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest) and the Computer Science Department at Rutgers (State University of New Jersey), for his work in discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science, and in recognition of the profound and lasting impact of these contributions in additive number theory and ergodic theory.
