El 20 de desembre, el Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona va acollir la cloenda del projecte (In)visibles i (O)cultes, amb la participació de Roser Homs, investigadora del CRM, que va oferir una xerrada als estudiants sobre la seva recerca i experiència com a científica.
El passat 20 de desembre, el Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona va acollir la cloenda de la tercera edició del projecte (In)visibles i (O)cultes, una iniciativa que promou la visibilització de les dones científiques. En aquesta ocasió, l’esdeveniment va comptar amb la participació de Roser Homs, investigadora postdoctoral Beatriu de Pinós al Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM), que va oferir una xerrada als estudiants participants.
Durant la seva intervenció, Roser Homs va compartir la seva experiència personal com a investigadora i va parlar de la seva recerca en estadística algebraica i les seves aplicacions a la filogenètica, on utilitza eines d’àlgebra commutativa, geometria algebraica i àlgebra computacional. Actualment, treballa al grup liderat per Marta Casanellas al CRM, i també ha desenvolupat la seva carrera en institucions internacionals com ara la TU München i el Max-Planck-Institut de Leipzig.

La seva xerrada va ser un dels moments més destacats de l’acte, que també va incloure la presentació de les cartel·les elaborades per l’alumnat sobre dones científiques de diverses disciplines. Els estudiants van tenir l’oportunitat de defensar els seus treballs i compartir reflexions sobre conceptes com el sostre de vidre, l’efecte Matilda o la síndrome de la impostora.
Aquest acte tanca amb una edició més del projecte (In)visibles i (O)cultes, reafirmant el seu objectiu d’inspirar i conscienciar les noves generacions sobre la importància de la igualtat de gènere en l’àmbit científic.
