Joint CRM-ISAAC Conference on Fourier Analysis and Approximation Theory

November 4 to 8, 2013
Place: Centre de Recerca Matemàtica

The conference on Fourier Analysis and Approximation Theory continues the successful tradition of workshop series: Osaka University 2008, Imperial College London 2008, Nagoya University 2009, University of Göttingen 2010 (see, ICREA Conference 2011 in CRM, and Aalto University 2012 (see ).

The conference will promote the modern research connecting Fourier analysis, function spaces, pseudo-differential operators, microlocal and time-frequency analysis, partial differential equations, and their links to modern developments in the approximation theory.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together the leading experts working in the fields of Fourier Analysis, Approximation Theory, and PDEs, and disseminate the latest progress in research, and in the interaction of these fields. Apart from the leading experts, we also aim at attracting promising young researchers and doctoral students.

Moreover, local mathematicians, especially undergraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students from universities of Barcelona would be particularly encouraged to participate and to listen to the talks.

Publication of Papers

It is planned that on the basis of the conference lectures, a collection of papers dedicated to the recent developments in the field will be published as a volume in Springer Basel (Birkhäuser) series Trends in Mathematics. The papers may be research papers or surveys. All the contributions will undergo full refereeing process and will be accepted based on the referee reports. All the participants of the meeting (speakers and non-speakers) are invited to submit a paper to the volume.

Important information:

- Deadline for submission is April 30, 2014.
- Contributions should be submitted as both .tex and .pdf versions to Editors (Michael Ruzhansky email: and Sergey Tikhonov email:
- Contributions should be full papers or surveys. Papers only announcing results will be rejected.
- The page limit for contributions will be 25 pages per person.
- We will provide the corresponding Birkhäuser style files on the conference homepage. Papers must be prepared based on these style files.
