Advanced course's information
Recent years have witnessed a renewed interest in mathematical modelling of tumour growth and therapy. This increase in activity in this area has been boosted by enhanced access to data (OMICS, medical imaging) and recent developments in the area of multi-scale modelling. This course is aimed at introducing recent progress in the field of mathematical modelling applied to tumour growth and oncology, particularly focused in the emergence of new modelling and analytical multi-scale techniques and the new opportunities for model validation based on increased availability of data. The course is particularly aimed at an audience composed of graduate students and postdocs in mathematics with an interest in the applications of mathematics to biology.
Speakers
Vincent Calvez, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Mesoscopic modelling of propagation phenomena
Anna Marciniak-Czochra, Heidelberg University. Mathematical modelling of stem cell based systems: Hierarchical structrues, clonal heterogeny and mutation-selection processes
