POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE (REF. 2022-001- P04120)
The computational neuroscience group at the CRM, headed by Alex Roxin, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to study the neuronal and circuit-level mechanisms underlying episodic memory formation and consolidation. The position will involve computational modeling of hippocampal networks with plasticity, in conjunction with the analysis of in-vivo electrophysiological and Ca-imaging data from rodents.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled
The post-doctoral researcher will be involved in the study of the network mechanisms underlying episodic memory formation in hippocampus. The project involves modelling as well as the analysis of electrophysiological and Ca-imaging data from mice.
The ideal candidate:
Ø Must have extensive experience modeling representational drift in area CA1 of hippocampus via statistical models and large-scale spiking networks, as well as analyzing data from chronic, long-term calcium imaging in mice.
Ø Expected starting date: February 1st, 2022
Ø Duration of the contract: fixed-term (two and a half month) for project BIO - RTI2018-097570-B-I00
Ø Salary as established by collective agreement
EVALUATION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
The selection process will be evaluated by the CRM Director or the CRM deputy director, Dr. Alex Roxin, as principal investigator of the Computational Neuroscience group, and another member from the research group. This process consists in:
1) Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as address scientific enquiries to email@example.com, indicating the reference code of the offer. The requests referred from another portal, other than the CRM job offers section and the instructions contained therein, will not be accepted.
2) Shortlist: assessment of the fulfilment of the minimum requirements of the offer.
3) Selection: evaluation of the shortlisted candidates by a total score according to objective criteria.
4) Final decision: If we find the right person, the resolution will be formally communicated and will be published in the CRM careers section.
