Research Interests

My goal is to apply mathematical methods to practically useful and challenging problems. Current work within the CRM Industrial Maths group includes

Much of this work is carried out in conjunction with other research groups. The Growth of Nanocrystals project is in collaboration with the Inorganic Nanoparticles group of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). Nanoscale heat transfer is in collaboration with the Statistical Physics group at UAB

Previous notable research topics include the development of the mathematical models for ice growth and water flow used in the ICECREMO commercial aircraft icing code; a confidential project related to ice removal in automotive fuel cells for the Automotive Fuel Cell Corporation; a mathematical model for the motion of a football through the air.
