Description

The CRM (www.crm.cat) is an independent research centre in the CERCA network since 2008, with the purpose of promoting both advanced training and research in all areas of mathematics, in collaboration with universities and other research institutions in Catalonia. CRM’s mission includes transferring knowledge based on the centre's research to society and aiming at having societal impact.

Research at CRM covers a wide spectrum of fields, from the most fundamental areas (algebra/number theory/geometry/topology, analysis and PDEs, combinatorics and dynamical systems) to applied mathematics (in the fields of biomedicine, climate change mitigation and adaptation and natural hazards). 

The center is distinguished as a Maria de Maeztu Unit of Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (2020 Call) and holds the HRS4R award (Human Resources Strategy for Research; awarded by the European Commission) since 2016. The Unit hosts approximately 80 senior researchers and affiliated researchers from UPC's, UB's and UAB's Mathematics departments. Five of them are ERC Grantees.  
  
Regarding training and exchange of knowledge, the CRM organizes 3-4 intensive research programs every year, welcoming 400 visiting researchers per year on average. Its aim is to connect the Catalan mathematics community with world-class practitioners (about 70% of the participants are international). 
 
The CRM in Barcelona is seeking a: 

Job Title: Impact Officer

The CRM needs to incorporate an innovative, enthusiastic, and versatile professional that can help to keep track and improve different projects. 


Expected starting date: April 2023

TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES: 

  • Giving support in maximizing the impact of the assigned projects, facilitating the use of the knowledge generated in the CRM beyond the academic environment.  
  • Contributing to the management of intellectual and industrial property in commercialization projects and in the alignment of research in the CRM with environmental, social and training policies, with the updating of indicators and documents.
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation and projects administration to ensure that the projects and its deliverables are moving forward on time. 
  • Contributing to identify performance measurements by writing follow-ups and reports including specific results which demonstrate the impact and success of the project.   
     

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Experimental Science, Engineering or related areas. 
  • Training in innovation will be valuable.
  • Knowledge of project management software is desirable.
  • High proficiency in English language.  
     

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Collaborative attitude and teamwork capabilities.  
  • Motivation to receive training to develop professionally in this role.  
  • Able to work on her/his own without strict supervision. 
  • Social and environmental consciousness. 

CONTRACT DETAILS: 

  • Full-time (37,5h/week). 
  • The candidates must be older than 16 years old and younger than 30 years old. Qualification: the candidate must have the bachelor’s degree required for the job.  In the case of having a foreign academic title, the candidate must have the corresponding homologated credential to the equivalent degree in Spain. 
  • Not having had any position at the CRM within the 6 months prior to the call. 
  • Estimated incorporation date: as soon as possible – before 30/04/2023. 
  • Duration of the contract: temporary – until 30/04/2025. 
  • Location: CRM facilities.  
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home.

  • Salary, as established by collective agreement, depends on qualification and demonstrated experience.

EVALUATION PROCESS AND CRITERIA: 

 
The selection process will be evaluated by the CRM Director or deputy director, the KTU Responsible, and another member from the CRM staff. This process consists of: 

1. Admission of candidates:

El CRM (www.crm.cat) es un centro de investigación independiente, perteneciente a la red CERCA desde el año 2008. El centro tiene la doble misión de promover tanto la formación avanzada como la investigación en todas las áreas de las matemáticas, en colaboración con universidades y otras instituciones de investigación de Cataluña. La misión del CRM incluye la transferencia del conocimiento basado en la investigación del centro y centrada en el impacto social.

La investigación del CRM cubre un amplio abanico de campos, desde las matemáticas fundamentales (álgebra/teoría de los números/geometría/topología, análisis y PDE, combinatoria o sistemas dinámicos) hasta las aplicadas (a la biomedicina, mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático o riesgos naturales). Está acreditada como Unidad de Excelencia Maria de Maeztu por el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad español (convocatoria 2020) y cuenta con el galardón HRS4R (Estrategia de Recursos Humanos para la Investigación; otorgada por la Comisión Europea) desde 2016 – El CRM acoge aproximadamente a 80 investigadores seniors e investigadores adscritos de los departamentos de Matemáticas de la UPC, UB y UAB. Cinco de ellos son becados ERC.

TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES 

  • Apoyar la maximización del impacto de los proyectos asignados, facilitando la utilización del conocimiento generado en el CRM más allá del entorno académico.
  • Contribuir a la gestión de la propiedad intelectual e industrial en proyectos de comercialización y en la alineación de la investigación del CRM con políticas ambientales, sociales y de formación, con la permanente actualización de indicadores y documentos.
  • Apoyar el funcionamiento diario y la administración de los proyectos para garantizar que éstos van avanzando y sus entregas se van cumpliendo.
  • Contribuir a identificar medidores de rendimiento ya seguir y generar informes que incluyan resultados concretos que demuestren el impacto y el éxito del proyecto.
     

REQUISITOS

  • Tener un grado/licenciatura en Matemáticas, Física, Informática, Ciencias Experimentales, Ingeniería o similares.
  • Se valorará tener formación en innovación.
  • Se valorará tener conocimientos de software de gestión de proyectos.
  • Tener un alto dominio de la lengua inglesa.
     

CUALIDADES PREFERIBLES: 

  • Capacidad de trabajo autónomo sin una supervisión estricta. 
  • Actitud colaborativa y capacidad de trabajo en equipo. 
  • Interés en recibir formación para desarrollarse profesionalmente en este puesto

DETALLES DE LOS CONTRATO:

  • Jornada completa (37,5h/semana).
  • Los candidatos deben tener una edad más de 16 años y menos de 30 años.
    Titulación: el candidato debe tener la titulación requerida por el puesto de trabajo. En caso de tener un título académico extranjero, deberá incluirse la credencial de homologación en el título equivalente en España.
  • No haber ocupado ninguna posición en el CRM dentro de los 6 meses anteriores a la convocatoria.
  • Fecha estimada de incorporación: lo antes posible – antes del 30/04/2023.
  • Duración del contrato: temporal - hasta el 30/04/2025.
  • Ubicación: Instalaciones CRM.
  • Horario de trabajo flexible y opción de teletrabajo.
  • Oportunidades de formación y desarrollo.
  • El salario establecido por convenio colectivo depende de la calificación y experiencia demostrada.
  • En la firma del contrato, el candidato seleccionado deberá estar registrado como demandante de empleo en alguna oficina de empleo.
     

PROCESO Y CRITERIOS DE EVALUACIÓN

El proceso de selección será evaluado por el Director o subdirector de CRM, el Responsable de la KTU y otro miembro del staff de CRM. Este proceso consiste en:

1. Admisión de candidatos:

Los solicitantes deben presentar uno:

a) Currículum vitae ciego (currículum CEC: sin ninguna información personal, como nombre, fecha de nacimiento, nacionalidad, sexo o fotografía).

b) Carta de motivación con los datos de información personal.

c) Copia de las titulaciones.
