Description
This CRM programme invites applications from small groups of researchers (between two and six, not necessary from the same university) who wish to organise a short and intensive period (maximum four weeks) of collaborative research usually hosted by the CRM. The local organiser must have a position in a Catalan university or in a Catalan research institution for the entire proposed duration of the research programme.
The programme will enable researchers to spend time in intensive research collaboration at the CRM, away from teaching and administration. The primary aim is to support top-quality research in the mathematical sciences, and therefore CRM encourages adventurous proposals involving novel groupings of researchers, involving international collaborators. We welcome applications from mid-career researchers, and particularly those who have had interruptions in their research careers, for example due to heavy administrative burden or caring responsibilities.
The co-funding of IP4RG proposals will be positively taking into account.
Requirements
o All participants must have an official, statutory, employment relationship of at least half-time dedication with an academic or research institution during the whole period of the activity.
o Visits should be carried out during the academic year (from September to July).
Mandatory documents to be attached during the application process (pdf)
o Curriculum Vitae*
o Full list of publications*
o Research plan to develop at the CRM (maximum one page)*
Call details

o Travelling expenses will be covered only extraordinarily.
o Support for visa management and medical insurance is required but not provided by the CRM. However, the centre will collaborate by providing the necessary documentation for its processing.
Tasks & Responsibilities
o One-month CRM visitors are expected to deliver a talk or mini-course with a short introduction to their research area during their stay at CRM, to be advertised to the mathematical community and graduate students in particular. The talk or mini-course will compulsory take place at the CRM facilities.
o It is expected that any publication arising from the collaboration during the IP4RG, acknowledges the support from CRM.
o A short-written report (usually of maximum one page) about the research performed during the IP4RG is expected from the participants shortly after the stay.
Timeline
Application deadline: applications can be submitted at any time between 6 and 12 months before the start of the desired stay.
Announcement of the call results: decisions will be taken by the CRM no later than two months, after submission of the application.
There is a joint agreement between the RIG’s program in Edinburg (https://www.icms.org.uk/funding-opportunities/research-groups-rigs) and the IRIG’s program in CIRM (https://www.cirm-math.com/irigs-cirm.html) to host shared collaborative research programmes from at least two institutions. Proposals in this modality should be submitted through the Research in Groups programmes of one of the institutions, with detailed expenses for each host institute separately. If there are significant differences in the amounts requested, then the co-ordinating centre should be the one from which most resources are requested.
