From November 26, 2015
to November 27, 2015

This event is part of the IRP Statistical Advances for complex data and of the BIOSTATNET network

Workshop’s description

The BIOSTATNET Workshop on Biomedical Big Data at CRM is an initiative of the Catalunya-BIO and Catalunya-SEA nodes of the Spanish Biostatistics BIOSTATNET network. Biostatnet brings together the most important national research groups in biostatisticsincluding universities, biomedical research centers and international partners.

Large amounts of biomedical and health data are generated every day due to the use of recent technological advances. These Biomedical Big Data come from many different fields and technologies such as massive genomic sequencing, electronic health records or high-resolution medical imaging, among others. The analysis of this information poses significant challenges to researchers in the field of biostatistics, bioinformatics, and signal processing.

The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum of discussion for experts in the biomedical field involved in statistical and computational data processing. The topics to be discussed are Biomedical Big Data collection, storage, organization, integration, analysis and sharing.

Biomedical Big Data is the central topic of the workshop and the invited talks.
