Description

The Computational Neuroscience Team at the CRM is looking for a research assistant to join the project Computational mechanisms of perceptual inference. This contract is envisaged to start on July 1st, 2022, and will last until August 31st, 2022.

TASKS

  • Development of behavioral experiments of bistable perception
  • Setting up a behavioral experimental lab
  • Analysis of behavioral data from humans and/or rodents in the decision-making task

REQUIREMENTS


The ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's in bioengineering, applied mathematics or computer science
  • Expertise in neuroscience, including the collection of behavioral data in human adults and analysis of behavioral data
  • Fluent English


ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS

  • High programming skills (Python or Matlab)
  • Motivation for research in neural computations of perception and decision-making

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Expected starting date: July 1, 2022
  • Duration of the contract: 2 months
  • Salary as established by collective agreement

EVALUATION PROCESS AND CRITERIA

The selection process will be evaluated by the CRM deputy director, Dr. Alexandre Hyafil, as principal investigator of the Computational Neuroscience Team and leading investigator in the project Computational Mechanisms of Perceptual Inference. This process consists in:

  1. Admission of candidates: applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter by email at crm@crm.cat, as well as address scientific inquiries to ahyafil@crm.cat, until June 17, 2022, indicating the reference code of the offer. The requests referred from another portal, other than the CRM job offers section and the instructions contained therein, will not be accepted.
  2. Shortlist: assessment of the fulfillment of the minimum requirements of the offer.
  3. Selection: evaluation of the shortlisted candidates by a total score according to objective criteria.
  4. Final decision: If we find the right person, the resolution will be formally communicated and will be published in the CRM careers section.
