Description

The CRM (www.crm.cat) is an independent research centre in the CERCA network since 2008, with the purpose of promoting both advanced training and research in all areas of mathematics, in collaboration with universities and other research institutions in Catalonia. CRM’s mission includes transferring knowledge based on the centre's research to society and aiming at having societal impact.

Research at CRM covers a wide spectrum of fields, from the most fundamental areas (algebra/number theory/geometry/topology, analysis and PDEs, combinatorics and dynamical systems) to applied mathematics (in the fields of biomedicine, climate change mitigation and adaptation and natural hazards).

TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES: 

•      Define, implement and monitor data quality standards, as well as their lifecycle (collection, documentation, preservation and reuse).

•      Pursue to develop the data architecture, ensuring its alignment with the centre's needs.

•      Ensure the scalability (for future needs), security and operation of the data platforms.

•      Design and monitor data management plans (DMPs) for research projects, collaborating with researchers to ensure data FAIRness.

•      Develop and maintain policies for Open Science governance and scientific integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance (GDPR and others).

•      Contribute to the institutional open science strategy, including the management and maintenance of the institutional repository, the periodic submission of data to UNEIX, the publication of articles in RECERCAT and on the research portal (PRC), as well as the collection and management of doctoral theses, undergraduate and master's theses, among others.

•      Give support to researchers in data management and scientific publishing, including:

O     Advising on the selection of journals in accordance with legal requirements and specific programmes (e.g. Marie Curie).

O Resolving queries on Open Science and Open Data

O Resolving queries on licences

•      Lead, drive and coordinate training and awareness-raising activities in Open Science, including the planning and delivery of the annual institutional training.

•     Participate in reference groups and networks (CSUC, Transformative Science Tuesdays, etc.) and act as a liaison between researchers, technical teams and the institution.

•     Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries and documentation standards to ensure interoperability and reusability.

•      Development of strategies and software to ensure data quality, as well as the development of tools to improve data transmission.

REQUIREMENTS:

 •          Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Library and Information Science, Information Management, or related fields associated with the management and analysis of scientific data.

•          Knowledge of data architecture and FAIR databases and Open Science Policies and other regulations 

•          Knowledge of SQL and other programming languages (e.g Python, R)

•          Knowledge of Research Data Management (RDM), including the development of Data Management Plans (DMPs), for example.

•          Experience or knowledge of data repositories and open access publishing (institutional or thematic, such as Open Science Framework).

•          Knowledge of persistent identifiers and metadata (such as DOI, ORCID, ROR, metadata standards).Intermediate level in English.

•          C1 catalan language

 

WE ARE LLOKING FOR A MOTIVATED PROFESSIONAL WHO:

•      Brings collaborative attitude, strong teamwork skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

•      Has previous experience working in a research center

•      Has experience in research data management (RDM), including the data lifecycle and FAIR-aligned Data Management Plans (DMPs) as well as in supporting the curation and repository deposition of research software.

•      Can design, implement and maintain data architectures, governance frameworks, and research data platforms among others

•      Is familiar with Open Science policies, regulatory frameworks (including GDPR), and best practices in data sharing and reuse.

•      Has experience with institutional repositories and research information systems (e.g., RECERCAT), metadata standards, and persistent identifiers (like DOI, ORCID).

•      Supports researchers in data management, Open Access publishing, and for research software licensing, including open-source, copyleft and proprietary licensing models, as well as related licence compliance aspects.

•      Is eager to develop tools or solutions that streamline data submission, management, and reuse.

 

CONTRACT DETAILS:

Full-time (37,5h/week)
Qualification: the candidate must have the degree required for the job.
Estimated incorporation date: as soon as possible
Duration of the contract: Science Law contract linked to project (temporary)
Location: CRM facilities.
