Joint Workshop CRM-CRAG

Jan 17, 2019

On Monday, January 28th, 2019, a joint workshop of the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) and Centre de Recerca Agrigenòmica (CRAG) will take place at CRAG Auditorium. The goal of this meeting is to promote new collaborations among researchers from the CRM and the CRAG, facilitating the exchange of knowledge among different scientific fields and exploring new approaches to address complex questions.

The Workshop CRM-CRAG will start with an overview of both research centres by their directors followed by a joint talk entitled “Almost magic: how math can help uncover biology” by Martí Bernardo (Head of Data Analysis at the Bioinformatics Core Unit at CRAG) and Isabel Serra (Technology Transfer Manager at CRM). After this, various researchers from CRM and CRAG will talk about their research projects.

This workshop is part of a series of meetings that CRAG organizes with other centres in its vicinity, aiming to share its research and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. The first of these meetings was the “nanoMATERIALS& PLANTS”, with the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB), which took place last summer also at CRAG. These meetings are supported by the Centro de Excelencia Severo Ochoa 2016-2019 (SEV-2015-0533) award, granted to CRAG by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
