Reaction-diffusion equations and propagation phenomena

Henri Berestycki, EHESS, Paris

New results about the topological degree of maps from a sphere into itself. Intriguing connections with Fourier series and Sobolev norms

Haïm Brezis, Rutgers and Technion

Global well-posedness and scattering for critical non-linear Schrodinger and wave equations

Carlos Kenig, The University of Chicago

Energy-driven pattern formation

Robert V. Kohn, Courant Institute, New York

Ricci flow and geometrization

Gang Tian, Princeton University

Format and scope:

This school on Partial Differential equations (PDE's) and Applications is aimed at master and PhD students,  recent PhD doctorates, and researchers in general.  Each speaker will teach an advanced course of four hours on a current important topic in PDE's and their applications. There will be, in addition, a daily session on questions and discussion.  The courses will concern modern hot subjects in PDE's and applied mathematics, not excessively focused in only one area to open new perspectives to researchers and students.
