LODGING INFORMATION

Vila Universitària 2

Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Bellaterra (Barcelona), 08193

The Vila Universitaria front desk will have a list with the distribution of the participants in the apartments. You can pick up the key to your apartment at the Vila Universitària Office. They have a 24 hours emergency service after office hours, holidays, and weekends, nevertheless whenever possible you should try to arrive during office hours to avoid last minute problems. If you arrive after-hours and the guard is not in the office, you can walk to the Hotel Campus reception desk and ask them to locate the guard for you. If you know at what time you will be arriving, please, let us know so we can inform them. Any change of your arriving time known during the weekend, when the CRM Secretariat is not open, should be notified directly to the Vila Universitària office to make sure that they will be ready for you when you come. Their number is: 93 580 30 95. The security guard phone number is: 93 581 73 13.

DIRECTIONS

To get to the Vila Universitària from the Barcelona airport follow the instructions on How to get to the CRM and exit at "Bellaterra station". Walk to the Vila Universitària/Hotel Campus following the path that begins crossing under the train tracks. The Vila Universitària office is located in the first building that you will find in a large square, in front of the Hotel Campus.

To get to the CRM from the Vila Universitària walk to the CRM following the directions on the UAB map attached (we are in n. 5 brown: Facultat de Ciències).

To get to the CRM from Barcelona (from downtown Barcelona)

From Pl. Catalunya, there are two train services to the university, run by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) and RENFE , although the latter only runs during school working days (i.e., not weekends, holidays or during vacation time). Note that they leave from entirely separate stations underneath the Pl. Catalunya and so if you arrive from the airport by the RENFE train and wish to go on to the CRM by the FGC then you will need to leave the station, cross the square towards La Rambla, then look for the signs. (If you wish to take a RENFE train to the UAB then you will not even need to change platforms.)

FGC ( ): Take a S2 Sabadell or S55 U. Autònoma train to the "Universitat Autònoma station", if you are going straight to the CRM, or "Bellaterra station" if you are going to the Vila Universitària. Trains depart approximately every 12 minutes between 5:15 am and 11:50 pm (every 20 minutes on weekends and holidays) and take 33 minutes. Price: 1,85 € (2 zones's ticket), although one can buy a 10 journey, called T10, 2 zones’s ticket for 13,80 € if you plan to make several trips to Barcelona. For more information visit www.fgc.net

RENFE ( ): On school days (i.e. not weekends, holidays or vacations), take a train from Plaça Catalunya to Cerdanyola UAB. Trains leave every 30 minutes from 7:34 am to 8:41 pm. Duration 25-30 minutes. Price 1,35 € (2 zones's ticket). For more information visit www.renfe.es. From the Cerdanyola UAB station one can take a free university bus (marked UAB) to most campus locations or walk to the CRM (less than one kilometre away). NOTE: During school holidays and weekends there is no bus service from the train station to the Campus so this option is not advisable then.
