Beques doctorals CRM

El Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) convoca 3 beques per fer el doctorat en una universitat de Catalunya, en una de les àrees següents:

• Seguretat de continguts digitals. (Tutors: Enric Nart, UAB i Jorge L. Villar, UPC).
• Neurociència matemàtica. (Tutor: Antoni Guillamon, UPC).
• Matemàtica financera. (Tutors: Josep Vives, UB i Frederic Utzet, UAB).

Els candidats, de qualsevol nacionalitat, han d’haver acabat els estudis que els donen accés directe als estudis de doctorat entre l’1 de juny de 2003 i el 30 de setembre de 2006.

Els candidats hauran d’emplenar i enviar electrònicament l’imprès de sol·licitud abans del dia 30 de novembre. També hauran de trametre'l per correu postal o per fax al CRM acompanyat de la documentació següent (la carta de recomanació inclosa):

• Còpia del passaport o del document d’identitat.
• Curriculum vitae.
• Document acreditatiu de la data de finalització dels estudis que en el seu país donen accés directe als estudis de doctorat.
• Expedient acadèmic on constin les qualificacions obtingudes durant els estudis de grau o llicenciatura.
• Escrit personal del candidat sobre la seva motivació per fer el doctorat en l’àrea escollida.
• Una carta de recomanació d'un professor universitari.

El termini per a la recepció al CRM de la documentació per correu postal o per fax és el dia 30 de novembre a les 12.00 hores. És responsabilitat dels candidats fer arribar la seva sol·licitud abans d’aquesta data.

Condicions de la beca

Els candidats seleccionats s’integraran en el programa de doctorat de la universitat catalana que el seu tutor consideri més adient en una data entre l’1 de gener de 2007 i l’1 de setembre de 2007, d'acord amb els requeriments de la universitat. Gaudiran dels mateixos drets i deures que els becaris de la universitat.

La beca és per 4 anys. Anualment es valorarà l’actitud i aprofitament del doctorand, que serà determinant per a la renovació o la rescissió de la beca. A partir de la finalització del segon any, serà condició imprescindible que el doctorand estigui treballant en un tema de tesi doctoral estrictament en el marc de la temàtica assignada.

Durant els 2 primers anys l’ajut tindrà les característiques d’una beca amb un dotació mensual de 1.150 euros (12 mesos l'any) i una assegurança mèdica i d’accidents. En el tercer i quart anys es formalitzarà un contracte en pràctiques amb una remuneració mensual de 1.350 euros (12 mesos l’any) i la quota corresponent de la Seguretat Social.

Els becaris disposaran el primer any d'un ajut de viatge per a les despeses de trasllat a Barcelona per un import màxim de 400 euros, depenent del lloc d'origen. El segon, tercer i quart anys tots els becaris disposaran d’un ajut per a activitats relacionades amb la seva recerca, d’acord amb l’informe del seu tutor, de 800, 1.200 i 2.000 euros respectivament.

CRM PhD-Grants

The Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) announces 3 grants to pursue a PhD degree in one of the Catalan Universities in one of the three following subjects:

• Digital Content Security (Tutors: Enric Nart, UAB and Jorge L. Villar, UPC)
• Mathematical Neuroscience (Tutor: Antoni Guillamon, UPC)
• Mathematical Finance (Tutors: Josep Vives, UB and Frederic Utzet, UAB)

The applicants, of any citizenship, must have finished the studies that give them direct access to Ph D studies between June 1, 2003 and September 30, 2006.

The applicants must fill in and send the on-line form before November 30, 2006. The form must also be sent to the CRM by postal mail or fax together with the following documents (the letter of recommendation included):

• Copy of the passport/DNI

• CV

• Document proving the degree that gives you direct access to doctoral studies in your country.

• Academic record (grades report).

• Written statement outlining the interests in this specific area of research.

• One letter of recommendation by an university professor.

The due date for receiving the documents at the CRM by postal mail or fax is November 30, 2006 at 12:00. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure that the documents will arrive on time.

Conditions of the grant

The selected candidates will join the PhD programme of the Catalan University that the appointed tutor considers more suitable in a date between January 1 and September 1, 2007, in accordance with the University requirements. The CRM PhD fellows will have the same rights and duties as the rest of the University’s fellows.

The grant is for a period of 4 years. There will be a yearly review in which the progress of the fellow will be assessed in order to renew or cancel the grant. After the end of the second year it will be a necessary condition for the fellow to be actively working in his thesis in one of the assigned subjects.

During the two first years the grant will have the typical traits of a scholarship with a monthly payment of 1.150 euros and a medical and accident insurance. During the third and fourth years a training contract will be signed. The contract will consist on a monthly payment of 1.350 euros (12 months per year) and the corresponding payment to the Spanish Social Security which gives access to the Social Medical Care and benefits.

During the first year, the fellows will have as travel budget to move to Barcelona a maximum of 400 euros, depending on the city of origin. During the second, third and fourth years all fellows will have a budget to be spent in activities related to their research, following the thesis advisor’s report, of 800, 1.200, 2.000 euros respectively.
